Am 1. September 1939 begann der Zweite Weltkrieg mit dem Überfall auf Polen durch Nazi-Deutschland.
Am 1. September 2020 erinnerte man wieder bundesweit an die Relevanz des Friedens. Auch wir, die Sammlungsbewegung aufstehen, beteiligten uns in Form verschiedenster Aktionen am Weltfriedenstag; viele Ortsgruppen gingen mit ihren Forderungen auf die Straße und erklärten, wieso man noch heute gegen Krieg und Waffen protestieren muss.

Gemeinsam mit der Berliner Friedenskoordination nahmen Aktivistinnen und Aktivisten von aufstehen in der Hauptstadt an einer Kundgebung zum Thema teil; große, bunt bemalte Transparente weckten das Interesse von Passantinnen und Passanten, sich mehr mit unseren Wünschen zur aktuellen Friedenspolitik zu befassen. „Würde statt Waffen!“ heißt ein Slogan, „Hände weg von Venezuela!“ fordert ein anderer.

Auch in Hannover machten Plakate aufmerksam auf eine Aktion, die lokale Aktivistinnen und Aktivisten von aufstehen organisierten. Am Maschsee/ Nordufer zierte ein riesiger Schriftzug das Brückengeländer. Unter dem Motto „Friedenszone überall – vom Ural bis Portugal“ positionierten sich die Beteiligten klar gegen Aufrüstungspläne, zunehmende Militarisierung und die Durchführung fragwürdiger NATO-Einsätze. Stattdessen legen sie der Regierung nahe, auf militärische Deeskalation und eine friedliche Außenpolitik zu setzen.

Gemeinsam mit dem DGB und den „Oldies for Future“ sorgte aufstehen in Magdeburg für Aufsehen. Verteilt auf die passend benannten Standorte Friedensplatz, Friedensbrücke und Friedensstraße informierte man über den Anlass des Ereignisses. Die Brücke war mit Sprüchen, die jeweils Frieden und Krieg thematisierten, übersät, was neugierige Fußgängerinnen und Fußgänger und sogar vorbeikommende Autofahrerinnen und Autofahrerinnen auf ein Gespräch einlud. Generell stieß man auf große Resonanz, viele Flyer wurden gern mit nach hause genommen.

Schon einige Tage zuvor, am 29. August, beteiligten sich Aufstehende aus Magdeburg als regionale Gruppe von aufstehen Sachsen-Anhalt neben den Regionen Harz, Altmark, Leipzig und Hannover an einem nachträglichen Ostermarsch. Pandemie-bedingt konnte dieser nicht wie gewohnt im April stattfinden, doch die Bürgerinitiative OFFENe HEIDe hatte aufgrund der Bedeutsamkeit dieser alljährlichen Friedensaktion eine Alternative im Spätsommer vorbereitet. Verlegt wurde das Ganze in die Stadt Burg, die einen großen Standort der Bundeswehr darstellt – von dort aus wird das NATO-Manöver DEFENDER 2020 unterstützt. Umso wichtiger, dass man im Rahmen des Programms unter dem Motto „Weltweite Solidarität statt internationale Kriege“ aufzeigt, wie achtsam und wachsam wir sind – sein müssen, um den Frieden zu wahren. International bekannte Freiheitskämper*innen waren anwesend; neben musikalischen und rednerischen Beiträgen vertiefte sich das Thema in Einzelgesprächen zwischen den Beteiligten.

Die aufstehen Aktionsgruppe Schwerin führte gemeinsam mit dem Friedensbündnis Schwerin eine Kundgebung durch mit dem Titel „„Nie wieder Krieg! In die Zukunft investieren!“ Vertreterinnen und Vertreter verschiedener Gruppen sprachen zum Thema, darunter auch die Schweriner Ortsgruppe. Der Andrang war groß von jung bis alt. Viele interessante Gespräche wurden geführt und zahlreiche Unterschriften für den UN-Atomwaffenverbotsvertrag eingesammelt.

aufstehen Leipzig auf der gemeinsamen Kundgebung mit Leipzig-gegen-Krieg anläßlich des Weltfriedentages. Anschließend ging es mit einer kleinen Friedensfahrt durch das Zentrum zur Georg Elser Brücke. Sie erhielt an diesem Tag diesen neuen Namen zur Ehrung des Widerstandskämpfers, der kurz vor Kriegsende noch von den Nazis erschossenen wurde. Die Namensgebung wurde von unserem aufstehen Mitglied Dr. Hans Wienhold gemeinsam mit dem BDA auf den Weg gebracht.

Trotz der zahlreichen, unterschiedlichen Ideen, die aufstehen am Weltfriedenstag kreativ begleitete und umsetzte, lässt sich ein klarer Standpunkt all dieser Menschen herausfiltern: Nie wieder Krieg! Hinsichtlich historischer und aktueller Ereignisse scheint das eigentlich selbstverständlich, und doch sind wir immer noch weit entfernt von einer friedlichen Welt.
